Breaking news: Unidentified Youth Set Fire to Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga's Residence
A devastating fire outbreak has ravaged the Kumasi Central
Market in Kejetia, Ghana, leaving traders and business owners in a state of
despair. The fire, which started around 6:00 AM, spread rapidly, engulfing
several shops and supermarkets in the vicinity.
According to eyewitnesses, the fire began at Adum, near Hello FM, and quickly spread across the market, fueled by strong winds and closely-packed stalls. Traders in the area quickly alerted the Ghana Fire Service, who responded not so promptly. However, due to inadequate equipment and logistical challenges, the firefighters faced difficulties in containing the blaze.
As the traders and business owners struggled to come
to terms with their losses, they were overcome with emotion, weeping and
calling out for support from individuals, organizations, and the government.
Eyewitnesses claim that the fire outbreak was
triggered by electricity fluctuations or power surges that occurred in the Adum
area of Kumasi earlier today. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be
confirmed, but it's clear that the consequences are dire.
The government and other stakeholders are being urged to provide support and aid to those affected by this tragic incident. As the people of Kumasi come together to support the affected traders, one thing is clear: the road to recovery will be long and difficult, but with the right support, the Kejetia Central Market can rise again from the ashes.
We will continue to provide updates on this developing
story as more information becomes available.
In the meantime, our thoughts and prayers are with the affected traders and business owners. May they find the strength and support they need to rebuild their lives and livelihoods.
