'I Was Testing the Gun' - Two Students Shot by Classmate at Adventist SHS, Ashanti Region

A distressing event unfolded at the Seventh Day Adventist Senior High School (ADASS) in Bantama during the school's break period. Bernard Amoabeng, a second-year student, brought a firearm onto the school premises. An argument among students regarding the gun's functionality escalated, leading Amoabeng to discharge the weapon. This resulted in injuries to two students.

One of the victims, identified as Penamang, sustained a critical gunshot wound to the forehead. She was initially treated at Kwadaso Hospital but was subsequently transferred to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital due to the severity of her condition.

The Suame District Police have taken Amoabeng into custody and initiated a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

This event has raised significant concerns among parents, educators, and the broader community about school safety and the imperative need for stringent measures to prevent weapons from being brought onto educational campuses.
